Redesign of Nachos Sauce Packaging

My task was to update the existing packaging, making it modern, vibrant, and emotionally engaging. It was important not only to attract attention on the shelf but also to create a visual language that evokes associations with joy and the pleasure of enjoying a favorite snack.

I developed a concept featuring bright, friendly characters that perfectly fit the atmosphere of cinemas and entertainment venues—the main sales points for this product. The design needed to convey emotions of fun, flavor variety, and the relaxed setting in which consumers enjoy nachos and dips.

The key decision was to create the characters by hand using clay modeling. This approach added uniqueness, liveliness, and tactility to the packaging—qualities that would have been impossible to achieve with 3D rendering or digital illustration in Photoshop. This method strengthened the emotional connection with the product, built consumer trust, and became a strong differentiating factor in the category.

To enhance this effect, I also developed custom hand-drawn typography, further emphasizing the originality and “live” feel of the design.

Another challenge was integrating technical information on the front of the packaging, as it could not be placed on other surfaces. I solved this by incorporating the text as a subtle background element, preserving readability without cluttering the design or diminishing its emotional impact.

This project is an example of how strategic design and a creative approach can not only refresh packaging but also create an emotional connection between the brand and the consumer, increasing the product’s value in the market.
