Hallab 1881 is a Lebanese sweets brand from Tripoli, known for its refined ingredients and traditional recipes. Their landmark store, Kasr El Helou (“Palace of Sweets”), is a cultural symbol that inspired the baklava box design.

The packaging reimagines baklava as a hidden treasure, using storytelling elements from the coastal city of Tripoli to turn the box into more than just a packaging. Hallab’s deep green and gold palette evokes elegance and luxury, while the design creates a strong sense of identity rooted in Lebanese culture.

Unlike conventional pastry boxes, this design blends cultural richness with imagination. By turning the packaging into a treasure chest, it reframes baklava not only as a delicacy but also as a cultural jewel.

The design was presented to Hallab and was very well received: they expressed strong interest in moving forward with the collaboration. This confirmed that the packaging achieves its goal: creating a visually distinctive, story-driven design that elevates Hallab’s sweets into a memorable cultural gift while staying true to Hallab’s established identity.
