We are honored to introduce a marriage between Rye and Oak — Templeton Whiskey’s oldest and most distinctive release to date. A creation that ushers in a bold new era for the brand through the launch of The Hidden Stash Collection. This collection represents not only the pinnacle of Templeton’s craftsmanship but also the continuation of a legacy nearly a century in the making.
To bring this legacy to life, Thoroughbred was entrusted with creating the formula for the collection and designing the packaging that would represent the apex of Templeton Whiskey’s portfolio. The challenge was to create a format that positioned this release as the top end of the current portfolio, while giving a timeless expression that could evolve with future releases in The Hidden Stash Collection.
Back in 1929, as banks collapsed across America and uncertainty swept the nation, the small town of Templeton, Iowa, found its own way to endure. Its survival was supported in part by a not-so-secret “Hidden Stash” of rye whiskey — a symbol of ingenuity, resilience, and the quiet pride of a community determined to thrive. Nearly one hundred years later, Templeton Whiskey pays tribute to that spirit with this new collection, beginning with its most mature expression to date.
The presentation of this whiskey has been designed to honor its story. The decanter-style bottle, elegant in form and rich in detail, features antique copper foils, meticulously crafted typography, and Templeton’s signature rye green. It is enclosed in a bespoke presentation box made from custom-varnished wood and copper — a design that captures both the authenticity of the brand’s roots and the refinement of a modern, ultra-premium release.
At the heart of this release lies the concept of union — the enduring marriage between rye and oak. This relationship, tested and strengthened over thirteen Iowan seasons, is captured through a scratchboard-style illustration featured prominently at the heart of both the bottle and the box. It tells a story of time, patience, and place — of the harmony that emerges when craftsmanship meets nature.
The result is a beautifully balanced and carefully considered release: a natural progression of the Templeton brand world. Every element, from material choice to typography, reflects a sense of quiet confidence and heritage. Subtle premium cues elevate the experience without excess, while the bespoke presentation box serves as both protection and celebration — a vessel worthy of the whiskey it holds.
Templeton 13 Year Old Rye stands as a tribute to legacy, resilience, and the artistry of aging — a whiskey truly made to sit at the pinnacle of any discerning collector’s cabinet.
