Ombra Dell’Etna – Volcanic Wine

OMBRA DELL’ETNA is a collection of volcanic wines born on the slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily — a land where fire and stone coexist in constant tension. The project translates the invisible forces of nature — heat, pressure, and transformation — into a minimal, tactile packaging concept.

The design centers on a visual metaphor: a red fissure breaking through a rough, volcanic-textured surface. This crack symbolizes the energy of the volcano and the origin of the wine. Across the collection, the scale of the fissure grows — from a subtle line on the white wine to a wide, glowing rupture on the Etna Rosso Contrada — reflecting the increasing richness and intensity of flavor.

Each bottle surface is treated to evoke the feel of cooled lava, combining matte and gloss layers to create depth and movement. The typography remains discreet, allowing the texture and contrast to express the story.
