About
Make a Mark is an initiative led by ESTAL, Avery Dennison, and LEONHARD KURZ. Each year, they invite 20 of the best design agencies from around the world with one goal: developing with complete creative freedom a packaging project focused on sustainability, luxury, and innovation. This freedom extends from the initial proposal to its development. A unique opportunity to fully unleash the creative capacity of the studio with the support of three leading industries in the packaging sector.
Solution
EDIT (036) combines industrial techniques with artisanal processes. This is currently a rising trend because it has a direct impact on a product’s sustainability and, moreover, this practice is becoming increasingly widespread in the world of luxury goods, where the excellence and exclusivity of artist production – which combines the tradition, uniqueness and warmth of handmade products – is especially valued.
EDIT (036) is made up of two elements designed with a sustainable perspective: a central glass piece that can be presented in up to 5 different finishes; and another piece that can be used both as a stopper and as a base for the bottle. This last piece comes in 6 different shapes, hence EDIT (036), as there are 36 possible combinations. Each of them is offered in 5 materials, which, in turn, are presented in 3 different finishes each. This allows the user to create their own bottle, choosing the model they want from among 40,580 possible combinations. Finally, the bottle features a label with information about the perfume and the logo. It is presented in a rigid lined box, which closes with a customizable label.
Curator’s Insight
