Our packaging comes from a species of fruit, also known as calabash or bottle gourd (Lagenaria). The calabash has been used for centuries in Ghana, West Africa (where our project originates from) to store food, liquids, and natural cosmetics. We collaborate with local Ghanaian artisans in the creation of the packaging. We have three different designs as you may see in the picture. Two of them have a hand-made cover and the third one is a design made out of a full calabash by cutting manually through it to get that shape. The designs with the hand-made cover, use two different plants  – one of them raffia which comes from the  palm tree and the other is elephant grass (also known as Napier Grass). Both are made using the ancestral African technique of weaving.
