The task was to design the label for a new range of Greek premium wines called Juliet & Romeo. The artwork was inspired by the two Shakespearean heroes and the intricate reversal of putting Juliet’s name first. The aim was to provide a visual narrative of the two lovers’ tale with references to the historical/theatrical setting.
The real challenge was to create a balance between a classic theme, which would circumscribe the background of the name, and a modern and fresh aesthetic that would add value to the image of the product on a par with its high quality. To further reinforce the product’s statement, I opted for high-quality relief paper, which has undertones of watercolor paper, and gold-foil printing.
