Kiddylicious supply snacks to all major UK supermarkets and operate in over 18 countries. ‘Little Bistro’ is the first adventure beyond snacks, with 10 lines of ambient baby and toddler meals. Working with Kiddylicious we have created the range design from scratch.
The name ‘Little Bistro’ is a playful nod to contemporary adult dining and top notch cuisine. It’s all about a grounding in fantastic, quality food and the first steps to an appreciation of great taste. This approach makes parents look smart and feel like they are making the very best choice.
The design styling evokes the ‘daily special’ chalkboards of restaurants and delis. The chalky typefaces, punchy messages and quick, simple food illustrations support this. Black was deliberately chosen as the base colour to disrupt the baby and toddler wet food category – something completely new.
The packaging is the first in the market to be transparent – nothing to hide in the ingredients so we proudly show them. No one else is this honest, open and proud of their food. The cooking pot aperture [consistent across all packaging] evokes the Little Bistro slow cooked process and also helps build trust with people wary of packaged food, who usually prepare meals from scratch.
The range tone is food loving, casual and re-assuring – an enthusiastic friend chatting rather than someone preaching.
