BeeFree is an Indiana-based gluten-free food company with a focus on helping employ adults with autism and giving them meaningful jobs. BeeFree evolved from their desire to bake tasty gluten and dairy-free treats for their son. Treats that would help with his autism and would allow him the pleasure of being a kid. Warrior Mix, a granola-like snack product, is BeeFree’s flagship product.

Elyse Myers Design first started working with BeeFree in 2014. At that time Warrior Mix was becoming popular and they needed a professional branding and packaging design for the journey ahead. Elyse developed a rustic and colorful brand with packaging to match. Over the next few years, BeeFree and Warrior Mix would grow into distributing in major grocery stores all over America, including Costco and Target. While the previous packaging design had served them well, it was decided that an update to the packaging would be beneficial going forward as a national brand. The pouch design was simplified and the Warrior Mix brand was made more prominent. The biggest change was getting rid of the window on the front of the pouch that showed the product. High-quality photos of the Warrior Mix replaced the window, which was a win-win from a cost, aesthetic, and sustainability perspective. The final product is a clean, colorful packaging suite that stands out on the shelves.

The updated Warrior Mix packaging was released in mid-2022 and BeeFree has had great feedback from current and prospective retailers.
