The Six Virtues: Educational Toys

My products originate from a fictional toy company that creates both fun and educational experiences primarily for children ages 3-5. The toys are designed with a focus imparting a specific virtue to kids in an age-appropriate and enjoyable manner. There are multiple learning opportunities that can be met through engaged and enthusiastic play, each providing the capacity to improve a child’s mental aptitude, emotional wellness, and motor skills.

As someone who has worked in both daycare and babysitting, I’ve gained knowledge regarding what children enjoy, as well as what helps them grow. The products were chosen based on these insights. A marble run helps children with their motor skills and allows for a cycle of trial and error. A doctor’s kit is able to increase a child’s empathy and emotional well-being. A play tent allows a child a safe space to withdraw, either to engage in creative play or to take a break from the noisy world around them.

The designs were created with both parents and children in mind. The bright colors, fun illustrations, and photographs draw in a curious child, while the structured and purposeful display of product information allows a parent to easily scan the details. The rounded shapes and fonts give each packaging design a whimsical touch, introducing feelings of curiosity and fun. The colors are cheerful, but not so bright as to overstimulate the sensitive eyes of a child. The addition of an accent color allows for more organized distribution of information, loosely grouping related areas of text and imagery into digestible bites.
