Pepos – package design
The Product
Here is the packaging design, created with the following product in mind, Melon chips.
Pepos Chips are a snack made from different melons. The fruit goes through a process in which other ingredients are added to obtain a paste. This paste is then divided into portions and dried, with the final shape resembling a chip.
Pepos Chips are a product like no other. It’s a way to enjoy a watery fruit without getting dirty or sticky. On the contrary, you can enjoy your fruit quickly and efficiently, getting a concentrated amount of the fruit’s nutritional qualities, which ends up acting as a healthy source of energy.
This snack is perfect for a coffee break, or even for when you don’t have time for a break, but still need to eat!
The Logo
The term “melon” can refer to both the plant and the fruit. Botanically, the melon is a type of berry, more specifically a “pepo“. That is why the name Pepos was chosen.
The Logo’s Visual
The visual of the logo is always a whole slice of melon cut in half. The visual of the melon used in the logo corresponds to the type of melon from which the product in the package is made.
The Slogan
The term “Always fresh” is intended to convey the freshness of the fruit used, to the consumer.
The Description
“A delicious snack full of flavor” is a fact, considering that when fruit goes through the dehydration process its flavor intensifies and becomes sweeter.
The Image
- The use of real images is to show the freshness of the product.
- The slices represent the type of melon from which the product is made, as well as the freshness of the fruit used to make the chips.
- The juice represents the juice of the fruit used in the product, the softness of the product itself and the fluidity in the way the chips can be consumed either in a long or short period of time.
- The chips are the embodiment of the final product, an example of what’s inside. They show the freshness of the product, as they look crispy and ready to eat. They are also distributed in such a way that they appear to float towards the consumer.
The Shape
The shape of this package is meant to resemble the shape of half a melon slice, or half of the logo’s visual.
