Break, a Riyadh-based donut and creative cake brand, set out in 2018 to rethink the dessert experience with strong tastes and unique designs. Break, known for its soft cake structure and milk-flavored fillings, required a brand identity that conveyed innovation, delight, and quality while appealing to a broad and diverse audience. OSTUDIO was tasked with creating a visual identity and packaging system that captured the brand’s spirit of indulgence and simplicity.
OSTUDIO approached the project with a unique meaning of the term “break”—not merely as a halt in the day, but also as a source of enjoyment and creativity. The end result was a sleek and distinctive logo with a powerful, dark-colored letterform that conveys clarity and class. This essential feature established the tone for a brand language founded on simplicity, playfulness, and memorable design.
Color had an important influence in shaping Break’s visual identity. The deep blue core color was carefully chosen to represent trust and dependability, while a variety of vibrant, dynamic accent colors created a sense of energy and enjoyment. These contrasting tones were used on packaging and visual materials to express the sense of spontaneity and delight that Break embodies.
OSTUDIO enhanced the brand’s happy personality with expressive packaging design that included dynamic features like amusing stickers and uplifting text. Each feature was purposefully chosen to enhance the unboxing experience and strengthen emotional connections with the customer. The package not only preserves the product, but it also heightens the sense of delight from the first glimpse.
