Doña Paula is a winery producing premium wines, founded in 1997 in Mendoza, Argentina. It is distinguished by producing all its wines from its own vineyards, located in the best areas of the country, with the goal of faithfully expressing the essence of each terroir. Doña Paula’s vineyards are the soul of the winery. Thanks to the diversity of its soils, altitude, climatic variations, and surrounding biodiversity, it produces wines of exceptional quality.
The winery commissioned us to design a line of three labels that would pay tribute to the diversity of their vineyard soils:
- Finca El Alto – Ugarteche, Luján de Cuyo (1,050 m above sea level)
- Finca Alluvia – Gualtallary, Uco Valley (1,350 m above sea level)
- Finca Los Indios – El Cepillo, Uco Valley (1,100 m above sea level)
- Each estate has unique characteristics, and these needed to be reflected in the label design.
The Doña Paula Single Vineyard label is a canvas on which nature and terroir come to life through a design that captures, through a system of illustrations, the essence and uniqueness of each vineyard and its surroundings. Between these gestural and spontaneous lines of the illustration, small scenes of life in the vineyard emerge: the workers, the flora and fauna of the area, and the vines framed by paths and structures that suggest history and human endeavor. The presence of nature and its surroundings on each label represents the different vineyards with their unique characteristics. The color palette is minimalist, reminiscent of the land and its surroundings. Each label not only identifies a terroir but tells its story: the connection with the land, the influence of the environment, and the dedication behind each harvest.
