Machetto – Pastiera

The aim of the project was to create the packaging for the sale of Machettö’s pastiera, a restaurant in Pietra Ligure. The brainstorming was based on careful research into the traditions linked to pastiera and the legends that revolve around it. With the client we chose a story, that of “The Queen who never laughs”.

An ad hoc illustration was created on the upper part of the pack to immediately attract the buyer’s attention. On the outside and inside of the packaging there is the Neapolitan saying born from this legend “magnatella ‘na ridere”, which we connected to the gastronomic and emotional experience that the chef wants his customers to live: to make those who enjoy this dessert that speaks of family and happy memories smile. In the packaging, inside a pocket, there is a leporello: where the legend is told, just revisited by the team as a fictional character has been inserted that leads back to the branding of the restaurant and private memories and emotions of the chef himself are narrated. This packaging is designed to be preserved over time, as a memento of this Easter.
