Molana: A Tribute to Persian Heritage and Craftsmanship

Molana is more than just a wine brand; it represents a profound journey of discovery and revival. Over the past four decades, the production of wine in Iran had come to a halt, leaving a blank canvas for modern-style wines. However, beneath the surface lies a captivating truth: Iran boasts a millennial history of viticulture, making it one of the birthplaces of this ancient craft, a distinction it shares with its neighboring country, Armenia.

The name Molana carries a profound significance, paying homage to the legendary Persian poet, Rumi, also known as Molana or ‘our teacher’. This project was a challenging yet rewarding endeavor, as I sought to create a brand visual that expresses the uniqueness and rich history behind it. Drawing inspiration from the art of medieval Persian manuscripts, the main element of the brand visual is an old, majestic grapevine with birds nestled on it, symbolizing the revival of Iranian winemaking. The logotype of Molana is stylized as Persian calligraphy, further emphasizing the cultural heritage and elegance of the brand.

Experience the elegance and heritage of Molana, where every bottle tells a story of tradition, artistry, and the timeless beauty of Persian culture.
