To preserve homemade recipes on a large-scale scale, Bakery Story uses only high-quality raw materials: butter and margarine without transisomers, natural jams, nuts, dried fruits. Bakery Story puff pastry tubes have a lot of fillings with a bright, juicy, but not “chemical” taste, which gives them an advantage over competitors.
All this increases the cost of products, and in order to maintain a high level of sales, it is important that the price matches the perceived value. The company turned to DS1 branding with the task of redesigning the packaging, which will reflect the premium quality of ingredients, reliance on family recipes and a high level of production.
ANALYTICS AND TRENDS
According to DS1 branding research, the trend for homemade recipes is due to the fact that customers are looking for delicious and “honest” products, they want to enjoy the taste of homemade pastries without the hassle and waste of their scarce resource — time.
This corresponds to the general trend towards nostalgia, which permeates completely different product categories, and in the confectionery segment it is reflected in the formula “the very taste from childhood”. Even realizing that such a product is manufactured on a factory scale, people feel warmth and care, as if they were in childhood at a family table with their grandmother’s pastries, which strengthens the emotional connection with the brand.
In addition, natural flavors not only bring you back to childhood, but are also associated with premium. Consumers, as a rule, are willing to pay more for brands with an individual approach, but this characteristic should be easy to read visually: most buyers of products “for tea” make a choice spontaneously on the shelf in the store.
IDEA AND IMPLEMENTATION
The abundance of details, colors, and images in design often makes a product cheaper and prevents you from focusing on its main characteristics. To visually convey premium quality, DS1 branding has made the packaging more concise and restrained. The neat minimalistic stamps at the bottom of the package convey the main advantages of the natural product.
The background is divided into two color blocks: a calm pastel shade and an accent bright color that suits your taste. In the central part, there are images of two mouth-watering tubes filled with berry filling, juicy berries and the stamps “Lots of filling”. Also, in the food area, the customer sees the product itself through a transparent “window”. This reflects a significant value for Bakery Story — honesty.
