Context

Ukaw is a Peruvian chocolate brand that honors Ucayali’s cultural and natural diversity, rooted in the traditions and mysticism of the Asháninka culture, where cacao is part of a living heritage.

Challenge

Create a visual identity that balances the chocolate’s sophistication with the spiritual and cultural richness of Ucayali. The goal was to reflect the jungle’s strength and nuances through a feminine character without falling into stereotypes.

Graphic Solution

The concept “Tribute to Ucayali” guided the design. The Salvaje typeface evokes mystical, tribal elements, while Baskerville adds simplicity and readability. A burgundy-centered palette conveys quality, complemented by beige and gold for elegance. Illustrations provided by the client, depicting cacao from Ucayali’s diverse ethnic perspectives, enhance the packaging and deepen the connection to the region’s culture and nature.
