TASK:
Our task was to create a new logo, brand identity and packaging for a Hungarian macaron manufactory.
IDEA:
I chose CHEZ DODO because I was inspired by them selling their macarons in decorative boxes. I came up with the idea that they could have a collaboration with different museums, artists and even painters. I decided to choose the French painter Henri Matisse. To be exact his cut-out era. I was able to incorporate his organic shapes into the modern and minimalist identity I had designed for the manufactory.
CONSTRUCTION:
The different organic shapes were placed on the outer sleeve as windows, allowing the macarons surfaces’ texture to function as a graphic element. The desserts are arranged in a drawer-style box, that can be pulled out with a decorative ribbon enhancing both functionality and elegance. To ensure break-free transportation, there is a supporting case inserted into the box for the macarons. I also designed a matching gift bag and a foldable leaflet to complete its packaging. The booklet can be folded back into itself to maximize the surface for information without any gluing.
PAPER TYPE:
I selected “CRUSH CORN” which is an environmentally friendly paper containing organic plant fibres. It is also 30% made up from recycled components and was produced with renewable energy making it a sustainably elegant choice.
