Oliwi – Moroccan olive oil

PacPac Studio

ABOUT

This project focuses on a Moroccan olive oil crafted in the foothills of the Atlas Mountains, bringing the rich flavors of the region’s unique terroir to the Gulf market. Positioned in the mid-range price segment, it offers a refined taste that combines Moroccan tradition with quality accessible to discerning consumers.

Our task was to create branding — naming, logo, color palette, and fonts — along with a packaging design for olive oil that not only stands out on the shelf but also reflects the product’s Moroccan origin and provides functional ease of use.

SOLUTION

We began with a creative packaging concept, designing a unique bottle shape and label that depart from traditional olive imagery. Based on this, we developed core branding elements to create a cohesive, memorable identity.

We created a unique bottle design, shaped as an arch — a form inspired by the architectural heritage of both Morocco, where the oil is produced, and the Gulf region, the target market. The arch shape reflects a cultural link to both regions, symbolizing tradition and elegance.

1/ BOTTLE DESIGN

The bottle features a rotating cap with a built-in dispenser offering two options—a small opening for controlled pouring and a larger one for more generous use. This design enhances convenience, allowing users to adjust the flow based on their dish, while promoting economical consumption.

2/ LABEL

For the olive oil label, we embraced surrealism with a playful twist — a bird nesting on olives, creating an unexpected, eye-catching visual that sparks curiosity and draws users in. This unexpected visual grabs attention and encourages a closer look.

3/ BRAND ELEMENTS

The name is a natural extension of the visual concept. The bird featured on the packaging looks like a kiwi, and by blending different words, we created the name Oliwi (Oliwi = olive + kiwi).

This name not only sounds smooth and soft, like olive oil itself, but also serves as the bird’s playful name. To capture this essence, we used a soft, handwritten font for the logo.

The accent typeface features olive-inspired elements, adding subtle, thematic detail to the design. To create balance, we paired it with a simple, soft sans-serif typeface that enhances clarity and maintains a clean, contemporary aesthetic.
