The packaging for ALBUS craft beer is inspired by spring and one of its characteristic rituals — whitewashing trees. With the arrival of warm weather, the lower parts of tree trunks are coated with white paint to protect them from sunburn, temperature fluctuations, and pests. This process not only serves as protection but also symbolizes the renewal of nature, its rebirth, and preparation for a new life cycle. The wood texture on the packaging helps convey the product’s naturalness and purity.
The level of whitewashing on each can creates a visual structure that distinguishes different types of craft beer based on their lightness. The higher the level of whitewashing, the lighter the beer, and vice versa.
Covering the entire can with the wood texture and whitewashing transforms it into an image of a tree trunk. This approach allows the creation of a grove effect when cans are placed together in any space, making the interaction with the packaging more engaging and atmospheric.
The logo imitates a stencil-style inscription, referencing the technical and informational markings often found on walls and even trees in urban environments. This typography emphasizes the street-space atmosphere.
