National Archaeological Museum is the biggest museum of Athens and one of the most important Museums of the world. At first it was used to store the finds from the excavates of the 19th century that were mainly found in Attiki. Gradually it became the museum we know today. In year 2016 the National Archaeological Museum completes 150 years from that first day.

This is a project I made at the packaging lesson during my studies at Technological Educational Institute of Athens. We were asked to make a celebration logo for the 150 years National Archaeological Museum and also the packages for the museum shop. The logo is inspired by the forms and the curvy silhouettes of the exhibits. On packages I have used photos from the statues that balance perfectly with the celebration logo and the font that responds to that age.

What’s Unique?
I believe that my work can effectively communicate the principles of National Archaeological Museum by pointing out the existing rounded forms and lines . Packages have been printed digitally, and designed in a way that makes it easy for everyone to use. My main concern was to create packages that can increase people’s desire to have a souvenir from Greece. All in all, I believe that somehow, those packages became a souvenir by themselves.
