CHALLENGE
The team at Brewfist is never short of creativity when it comes to brew new and exciting beers, but the idea behind a celebratory Barley Wine that would honour their 6th year in brewing sounded particularly enticing to all of us. Besides that, this time they freed us up of any printing constraint and the briefing was quite straightforward – go big!SOLUTION
We looked at the visual language of spirits and liqueurs and decided to start working on the label with the printing finishes already clear in mind. The background illustration is based on a monumental Roman cathedral in the small town of Lodi Vecchia, not far from Brewfist, which we reimagined as a working brewery. The custom lettering Vecchia Lodi 2017 references Italian vintage sign painting traditions, and we decided on copper leaf as the leading colour. Lastly, we enriched the entire front label with tone-on-tone embossed decorations and decided to add a collar seal over the crown cap for added premiumness.
Every bottle comes individually packaged within a gift case which recalls the same design on the label.
RESULT
A precious product deserves a precious packaging. The result is an elegant design rich of finely crafted details that well complement this limited edition special beer.
