Honoring Flavors: Sui Hua Appreciation Series | Pica

I love designing traditional festival packaging because it embodies thousands of years of Chinese culture and history, while also reflecting the deep and sincere emotions of the Chinese people. For the Mid-Autumn Festival mooncakes, my design concept is simplicity – using elegant patterns, understated shapes and pure colors. Traditional patterns such as quails, bottles and rabbits symbolize people’s hopes and good wishes for this special moment under the moonlight. I believe that traditional pastries such as mooncakes should convey real blessings, not just exquisite luxury. Maybe that’s why I prefer classic flavors over innovative ones! These pastries are carefully selected from Chengde Manchu Old Pastry Shop, a long-standing brand with rich cultural heritage. Their ancient techniques passed down from generation to generation are reflected in every handmade work of master craftsmen. We hope that you can feel the deep beauty of tradition and culture while enjoying these mooncakes.
