Toddy cake – a brand featuring cake products was the main focus of this project. Here we focused on bringing life to the brand, completely revolutionizing the look of the logo and the brand mascot, while simultaneously working on a packaging design that would bring the final pieces together. The old logo for Medovina we felt was outdated and didn’t communicate clearly enough the main themes which are part of the product and ultimately the brand. The new logo features a bright shade of red, surrounded by golden outlines which make the name “Medovina” truly stand out. Similarly, the addition of the M which is positioned right at the peak of the logo aims to sustain the same effect of the brand. The mascot, in parallel with the logo was outdated, however it still had promising ideas imbedded into it which we could work off.

The previous rendition of the mascot depicted the bear in an undoubtedly adorable way, however the other elements in the mascot such as the grass and the basket take the attention away from the main component which is the bear itself. We instantly saw this gap and improved upon it, entirely scrapping the grass elements and instead placing the bear behind a plain white background, the colors of the bear, the facial expressions and the size were all significantly enhanced. While additional elements such as the flavor of the honey cake were implicitly portrayed through the usage of honey and a bee, positioned right next to the bear. The packaging for the Toddy cake itself utilizes a sky-blue background which reaffirms the upbeat nature of the mascot and the product, accompanied by a bright green grass beneath the bear.
