Ekos del Perú

Ariana Tasayco

This project explores the sonic and cultural vibration of Peru, transforming traditional objects such as the chajcha, rain stick, and conch shell into a visual and tactile experience through packaging. Inspired by the ancestral connection to nature and everyday rituals, the design aims to let the viewer feel the echoes, vibrations, and rhythms these objects produce.

More than an object, the packaging offers a cultural immersion. It represents the sonic identity of three key regions of the country: coast, highlands, and jungle, allowing a living fragment of Peru’s nature and history to be experienced, heard, felt, and remembered.

The visual composition is built around a system of flowing lines that represent sound waves, symbolizing the expansion of echoes across the landscape. These lines, kept at a consistent thickness to maintain iconographic harmony, bridge modern graphic design with the organic quality of natural textures. The color palette is led by a deep fuchsia, drawn directly from ancestral textiles, injecting a contemporary energy while celebrating cultural heritage.

More than just a wrapper, the packaging becomes a tactile surprise. Its irregular structure and finishes invite curiosity, suggesting that inside lies not just craftsmanship, but an atmosphere: the whisper of the sea, the rhythm of clouds, and the voice of the earth.
