Packaging for eco textile selling website.
The main objective was to create a specific form for non-structural and flexible material. Therefore, I decided that the most convenient way to pack textile is to fold it in four (usually the sheet is 155cm wide, so 155:4=38.75cm) and roll it up. This way we get equal rolls of about 40cm long with various diameters.
Since we have 7 basic types of textile, I have created a texture for each one of them, designed to transmit a sense of touch to linen, cotton, silk, nettle, hemp, wool and handmade mixed textiles. Silk is folded into a box since it is most lightweight.
There are special stickers for each textile type with brand name (Margo) and fabric name printed on it and the length of each specific roll should be written by hand.
Finally, I provided a bag for delivery with another information sticker containing customer’s details (name, delivery address, phone number, time of delivery etc.)
What’s Unique?
To sum up, here I present the original, smart and cost-effective way to pack every type of fabric independent on its length which may come in handy for online sales. Moreover, every package has its unique texture designed to render a touch sensation of a specific fabric.
