A nationwide, nutrition-focused meal delivery company had perfected the recipes for a new line of gluten-free cookies. They came to us for a brand name, branding and packaging design to make the cookies pop.
We started with the name: Happy Batch elicits the feeling of delight cookies bring, and hints at the thought and care that go into baking each one. We also created names for the cookie flavors, too, including OMB! (Oatmeal Butterscotch), Nut-T by Nature (Peanut Butter) and The Popular Kid (Chocolate Chip).
For the brand identity, we created a cheerful logo in a script typeface. A thick, bold typeface complements the script for other brand text, and a bright color palette makes it friendly and happy. We also designed a brand pattern featuring a repeat of simple icons—cookies, smiles, or chocolate chips, depending on your point of view. The tagline, “Get Happy,” rounds out the lighthearted, witty and relatable brand language.
The Happy Batch team wanted to be able to sell the cookies individually, so we designed the packaging accordingly. Front and center is a big, eye-catching logo. The names are color coded to easily differentiate the flavors, while the clear wrapper lets the cookie shine.
What’s Unique?
The individual packaging allows customers to purchase several flavors and try them all. And while many gluten-free cookies and baked goods suffer from grainy, gross textures, the clear packaging of Happy Batch cookies hints at the transparency behind the clean label, while showing all the goodness in each bite.
