Balance is a brand of water that started with very humble origins in Sydney and is now sold in Australia, Asia, America and Europe and operates offices in New York, Sydney and Cologne.

The client contacted us to design a premium label that was meant to be sold in the JFK airport in New York and on few airlines.

After the briefing with the client the keywords where: Premium, Stylish, Classic

We took inspiration from old travel pictures, turn of the XX century to be precise, I had the constant image of the orient express in mind while designing.

It was a period characterized by optimism, regional peace, economic prosperity and technological, scientific and cultural innovations.

We wanted a minimal design as much as possible (simplify, simplify I was thinking :)) so we opted for a Didot font, that is a serif one but with a modern design, than replacing the A with a drop of water I obtained the brand I was looking for..a direct and functional approach but without a lack of creativity.

We divided the label in three parts: front, side, back.

On the front there’s the brand name, on the side a flower composition.

On the back all the technical information.

What’s Unique?
The water is infused with Australian flower essences, we hand draw the flowers and then redesigned them in illustrator then we opted to make them UV gloss window varnish, trying to recreate a embroidery/lace effect on the side of the bottle. The raised spot gloss then add another dimension to the project.

All the front of the label is raised spot gloss using 2 colors white and Pantone 550C.
