Cider is a popular beverage and a refreshing alternative to the bitter, hop-heavy flavor profiles of many types of beer. It is extracted from the whole apple itself, including the apple core, trimmings from apples. This beverage has a long history and different types. The best types are produced only with special organic apples without additional preservatives.
Malus apple cider is produced using organic cider apples and matured in old oak vats which results in an easy-to-drink cider with a ripe apple aroma and a refreshing well-balanced taste.
While naming and creating the design for this special product we explored the history and making process as well. Malus is a Latin word. It is a genus of about 30–55 species of small deciduous trees or shrubs in the family Rosaceae, including the domesticated orchard apple.
Exploring the history of cider making we discovered that this beverage was very famous among sailors in the middle ages and marine themes and colors were included in packaging design mood boards. Modern cider making has come a long way from early forms of production, that’s why our designers united different hand-drawn patterns and styles to create a fresh and modern-looking packaging design.
Minimalistic and modern styles were used to create special patterns for both tin cans and glass bottles as well. Hand drawn graphic of an apple shape is used to express the main idea of the product.
The branding was done in a simple and minimalistic way for the European market.
