The SKICC Kreatív Kávébár (English meaning “sketch creative café & bar”) is an art café in Budapest. The SKICC has a dedicated product, a DIY kit that changes month by month. I designed an embroidery kit packaging using the art café’s essential brand elements. The concept was to create an easy-variable design (because of the monthly renewable kit). This is why I chose the coffee cup with the painting.
The connection is a recurring gag in the brand’s visuality and communication: the bond between coffee and art. It was obvious to use an embroidery painting with the cup, next to the other brand elements: the colours and fonts, the watercolour texture, the hand-drawn illustrations and the slogan (“A cup of art”). The embroidery kit has its own pictogram set, this is how the box content is visually displayed.
The box has two levels. When the customer opens it they will see the short description and the embroidery hoop first. The other tools are organized under the paper divider. Now, you can see that this DIY box is much more than “a cup of art”.
