Freedom – 25th April 1974

THE STORY
In Portugal, freedom is celebrated every year on the 25th of April, but also every day that opinions can be expressed, that we can say what’s on our mind, be whatever we want to be, and choose our own destiny. But this year is special: it’s the 50th anniversary of the Portuguese conquering their freedom!

25th April 1974. This historic day marked the Carnation Revolution, which brought an end to the 48-year dictatorship in Portugal.

THE WORK
A blank page brief, highly demanding in terms of creativity and quality, because the main goal was to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the “flowers revolution”- Portuguese Democracy.

As an agency, we were tasked with a large, interesting and challenging project: finding an attractive and expressive bottle, bartop concept, design and production, label design and a metal pieces development to enrich and preserve a recognizable packaging for more than 50 years.

Fine paper, gold foil, alloy bartop developed from scratch, charming kneck bottle highly embossed, gold and black medallion to stand out above the paper label and a stripe over the bartop with gold foil details.

Finally, we have designed a sophisticated and customized box, blending cartoon and French oak wood, with a cut-out of the bottle silhoutte.

The project was also a new achievement for our team because it is our first CGI project fully developed in-house.
