Nomad, a Columbus, Ohio-based restaurant, combines local ingredients with global flavors, and its branding reflects its adventurous and artistic identity. This project extends Nomad’s vision through the design of a food truck, takeout packaging, and cohesive menu designs.
The food truck features a mural inspired by the artwork inside the restaurant, wrapping the vehicle with illustrations of landmarks, cultural motifs, and a subtle map overlay. This creates a sense of wanderlust and a connection to the restaurant’s interior aesthetic. The earthy tones and textured look evoke the feel of global exploration while staying true to the local charm of Columbus.
The takeout packaging was designed to align seamlessly with the food truck and restaurant branding. The container sleeves and bags incorporate the same mural, ensuring consistency across all brand touchpoints and extending the storytelling to customers enjoying their meals on the go. While the cups and napkins contain a map of Spain, connecting to the Spanish roots of the company.
The physical and digital menus were designed to complement the brand’s identity, emphasizing clean, easy-to-read layouts paired with imagery from the wrap around the truck or on the packaging. These designs ensure a seamless transition between in-person and online dining experiences, enhancing customer engagement.
This project captures Nomad’s commitment to storytelling, cultural discovery, and providing an immersive dining experience, whether at the restaurant, through the food truck, via its menus, or with its thoughtfully designed takeout packaging.
