Pinch of soil is a unique flower brand. The name reflects the idea that gardening is a creative and fun process. Seeds and bulbs are the main ingredients needed to grow flowers. I have built a package for seeds, a single bulb, and four bulbs. The package is efficiently designed and multi functional: The wooden part of the package becomes a spork, which can be used to dig and pour the grains. It then becomes the label for the flower planted in the pot. Therefore, the package becomes the gardening tools for the flowers. This will help create a more memorable and fun experience for the end user. The target audience consists of people who love gardening and live in rural or suburban areas. Since women are more prone to decorating their gardens with flowers, my target audience will be women aged from 25 to 50. The inspiration behind the packaging design is based on the organic features of flowers. The package reminds us of the pedal of a flower. The packages have a “tail” which becomes the signature and recognition of Pinch of Soil. Regarding the illustrations, there are all based on the different shape that the spork can have. Also, as the package grows, so does the illustration. The Risograph printing brings out the lively and happy colors of nature. The packages are designed in a way where they can be stacked together as they have complimentary shapes, making an efficient use of shelf space.

Pinch of Soil has also taken into consideration beginners in the craft of gardening by creating packages that simply need to be placed into the soil; the material will dissolve over time.

What’s Unique?
Pinch of Soil is unique by its shape, use of different materials, use of Risograph printing, and its multifuncional packages.

The package is efficiently and is stackable. The packages all have a wooden “tail”, which is the signature and possible recognition of Pinch of Soil. The wooden part of the package becomes a spork, which can be used to dig and pour the grains. It then becomes the label for the flower planted in the pot. Therefore, the package becomes the gardening tools for the flowers. As for the Risograph printing, it brings out the lively and joyful colors of nature. Gardening is supposed to be an enjoyable experience, Pinch of Soil brings the fun back to gardening.
