The new project of Tiraspol Bread Factory, which our studio created the packaging design for, isn’t just an ordinary cake. The client’s task was to create a “visit card” of sorts, a product that would be instantly associated with the city’s name, like how it works in such cases as Moscow or Kiev cake. That’s why the manufacturer has involved the citizens of Tiraspol to the process of picking the best recipe, by creating several variations and letting the public to decide which is the best one.As a result, the citizens of Tiraspol preferred a cake with a coffee-chocolate flavor and a meringue layer, which uses only natural and quality ingredients. And of course, such a product required a packaging design, which would link it to the place of its production.

The packaging for Tiraspol cake is executed in a festive style with a light flavor of Soviet vintage. The name of the product features handwritten lettering, which offers a reference to the packaging style of the 60-70s era. The main landmark of Tiraspol – the statue of Alexander Suvorov – is also featured as a hand-drawn illustration, which was also made into a confectionery form place on the cake itself. The side of the packaging features another landmark – the House of Soviets – that emphasizes the geographic link of the product to Tiraspol. As a result, the packaging looks pleasant, festive, yet without being vivid or overly assertive, placing the main emphasis on the link with the city the cake was created to represent.
