This project is a collaboration between Blank Walls and Pirate Life Brewing. The can design is by Blank Walls artist, Nerone who is currently based in London.

Pirate Life’s latest collaboration with international street-art collective Blank Walls will see sales from their brand-new 7% Raspberry and Lemon Sour donated to the ‘No More Blank Walls Fund’ – an initiative designed to get more colour onto more walls across Australia.

The beer will don a one-off can design by UK based artist and Blank Walls ambassador Nerone, so punters will need to decide, ‘is their tinny destined for the cooler or the pool room?’ Tough Call.

Blank Walls, which is run by creative trio Will Clark, Jerome Davenport and Alex Harvey, is the street-art management crew behind some of the world’s most epic murals, and at last count, actively supports over fifty artists from across the globe.

Director / Project Manager Will outlined the incentive in a recent chat:
“The ‘No More Blank Walls Fund’ will be used to support mural installations and street art festivals throughout Australia.
“$5 from each case (of the Raspberry and Lemon Sour) will be donated to the NMBW Fund, an ongoing initiative which will deliver public art installations for local communities across Australia in need of revitalisation, while fostering opportunities for artists from local to international level.
“This collaboration with Pirate Life will provide artists with a platform to reach new audiences, expanding the reach of their work on a global scale.”

The Nerone clad sour is PL’s fourth release under their ‘Artist Series’ banner, which launched officially in March of 2020.

“Getting Nerone to create a piece for this beer was pretty epic. We’ve always been fans of street-art at Pirate Life, and his design totally nails the brief,” says PL Co-Founder, Jack Cameron.

“The ‘Artist Series’ was designed to help support local and international talent, while simultaneously splashing a bit of colour onto to a tin of PL beer…it’s great to team up with our mates at Blank Walls this time round.”

PL have been proudly collaborating with artists since the brand’s inception in 2014, notably stepping up as major sponsors of the Wonderwalls Festival held annually down in the Port.

“Each artist to feature work throughout the series has backed it up with a mural at the brewery, so we’d be keen to get Nerone over when things return to normal…whenever that is!”

The limited-edition PL + Nerone + Blank Walls Raspberry and Lemon Sour will be available to the public from Monday the 11th of January via Pirate Life’s Port Adelaide Brewery, selected bottle-shops, and PL’s online store.

What’s Unique?
Our initiative is the first of it’s kind (that we know of) where we take art that has been designed for the street and put it on a can, with a % of sales being driven back into the curation of street art installations and festivals, coming full circle for street art and beer fans.

The printing process was a first for the brewery to ensure we got the most vibrancy from the design. The result is striking and perfectly compliments the beer.
