Branding and Packaging Tomatier
Naming project, brand design, and packaging for “Tomatier” for the Almeria-based agricultural company Nijasol. The packaging design features premium quality “Sharmita” cherry tomatoes on the vine. This is an exclusive edition for Carrefour.
Similar to how a sommelier is an expert in wine, the name “Tomatier” represents specialization and expertise in the tomato industry. It also conveys elegance, delicacy, and attention to detail for the product.
Our proposed packaging design is a box that elevates the product to a premium category, creating differentiation on the shelf and highlighting the values of quality and strong flavor. It consists of a removable tray and a sleeve with a die-cut window to showcase the product. The main feature is a handmade illustration in an engraved style of a tomato vine, which completes the shapes of the tomatoes inside the box that are visible through the window.
The design has a craft or artisanal style to emphasize the natural character of the product and its entirely manual harvesting process. The tray serves as a container in which the tomatoes are collected directly from the plant.
Environmental impact has been taken into account by avoiding plastic or PVC trays and wrappers. The printing is done using direct inks on the back of folding wood.
