Medicine packaging has, to this date, remained cold and unfriendly. The limited real estate on each box usually features a plethora of unhelpful and generally useless information. For this project, I created an “Allergy Survival Kit”, a packaged box of both Claritin Liqui-Gels and Kleenex. As a long-time allergy sufferer, I realized that sometimes (…most of the time…), medicine on its own just doesn’t cut it. Hence, the addition of Kleenex for comfort.
Research was conducted with adults 25 and older to find the most important information that consumers were looking for, and the box designed to reflect the findings. The result is a much cleaner label that speaks to the consumer’s needs. In addition, the package is designed with a clear acetate box to showcase the contents of the package, which immediately determines the type of pill without needing to even read “Liqui-Gel” on the package.
Notes: As long as our research supported it, we were allowed to disregard the FDA’s label requirements, and/or place required information within the package.
