This was a branding project for a gin that was based on my hometown, Seoul, South Korea. The name of the gin (Do K B Gin) incorporates the Korean legendary folklore Dokkaebi. The hand drawn logo expresses the image of the mystical, imaginary and powerful creature. The idea that Dokkaebi has extraordinary mystical powers and abilities when used to interact with humans, at times playing tricks on them and at times helping them, parallels with the powerful yet mischievous energy that gin provides. I took the project farther by creating a deck of trump cards with images and patterns based on my illustrated drawings. I created a pattern and applied it for the casino carpet and the light. The gin and trump cards were first illustrated by hands, printed and crafted.

What’s Unique?
The illustrated drawings for Do K B Gin and the trump cards farther uniquely expresses the mischievous idea of both folklore and gin.
