Distilling mastery and art in a unique edition – DYC 20

Morillas Branding

After 20 years of patient maturation in a single American oak barrel, DYC 20 emerges as the most premium edition of whisky DYC, born to pay a worthy tribute to excellent quality, skill, and unique Spanish know-how. At Morillas, we were challenged to create and design limited-edition packaging in collaboration with Lorenzo Caprile, the renowned Spanish fashion designer. Exclusive packaging that captures its mastery while preserving the classic Spanish essence, premiumizing the brand through imagery that raises the category to a jewel.

The Morillas team rolled up their sleeves and spearheaded a creative technical process, in the form of a creative atelier. Working hand in hand with Lorenzo Caprile, we shaped main and secondary packaging that represented the Spanish aesthetic realm. To do so we used the designer’s proprietary codes and adapted them to the brand –such as the use of its distinguished red, and its proprietary textures and weaves which simultaneously represent Spanish baroque art.

To shape the bottle, we reinterpreted the codes of Caprile’s inspiration, thereby creating an exclusive packaging that reflected the classic Spanish character, inspired by traditional perfume and spirits decanters. We approached the “Real Fábrica de La Granja” to create hand-made bottles, brimming with fine, accurate details that represent the brand’s essence. The elegant hand-carved glass stems that adorn the bottle evoke the peaks of the Sierra de Guadarrama mountain range, where DYC ages at an altitude of 1,036 meters, and where its shapes and lights are inspired by the flow of the Eresma river that enriches the fragrance of this whisky. Fashioned with a blow cane and with a mold specially designed for the occasion, each DYC 20 bottle represents a unique and exclusive piece that pays homage to the value of culture, the quality of raw materials and hand-made crafts, and to quintessential Spanish mastery and know-how.

An edition that evokes and honors artwork and invites us to discover the union and skill of the great Spanish masters. A way to capture the real soul of DYC through a unique object worthy of being desired.
