Ancient settled Italic population, in a period prior to the mid-5th century. BC, in Lucania and Bruzio. The indigenous archaeological documentation of these areas between the beginning of the Iron Age and the 5th century is attributed to the Enotri, who according to ancient tradition were originally from Arcadia. BC. Around the middle of the 5th century. B.C. the Oenotrians disappeared, overwhelmed by Greek colonization and the Oscan invasion.

“Enotrio” is defined as a large territorial area, structured in a culturally homogeneous form between the 8th and 7th centuries. BC, which includes western Basilicata, Vallo di Diano, the coastal strip of Cilento and Calabria and the Calabrian hinterland crossed by the Crati, Esaro, Coscile and Savuto basins.

Our brand draws inspiration from the most widespread decorative sign in the Enotri artistic production, the “tent” motif. This is the element that characterizes the CIRÒ RISERVA label.

The decorative motifs of the IDENTITARI line are inspired by the black decorations that adorned the pottery produced by Enotria. While the arches of the Saracen Markets of Punta Alice, a suggestive place by the sea, suggested the decorative theme for the labels of the VARIETALI line.
