Packaging Substrate / Materials: Glass bottle

At school we had the task to create a new product and to design a packaging for it. Currently, the most of alternative milk is being packaged by Tetra Pak cartons which is difficult to recycle while such product should involve caring for the environment. That’s why I decided to use glass for my product.

Furthermore, there was the aim to make plant milk more familiar and comprehensible to customers. Hence, I included nonverbal communication in design inspired by several systems of symbols. The front side of the bottle works as a rebus. It enciphers a name by combination of “MO” and a picture of nut or other product from what milk was made. On the back we have an answer in a form of bizarre fictional word, for instance “MOMINDAL” where “mo” is a part of Russian word “moloko” meaning “milk” in English and “mindal” is “almond”. If we have had an adaptation of it in English it would sound like “malmond”. Thus, each type of milk in series has its unique name.

Besides, there is an additional text about product on the backside. It contains another symbols resemble to emoji. Here pictures replace entire words and invite customers to guess what they mean. So, this is all about communication game between the packaging and customers that makes the product more curious and close.
