“Polp” is a shampoo bottle designed for kids, which tries to be friendly and fun when they are taking a shower. This product that was designed to be touched and used by kids safely, it has very round and organic shapes, with a soft and rubbery touch. It also does not contain small parts, making it impossible for them to swallow them. Its suction cups make it a different and eye-catching product, and it communicates directly with the kids and allows them to stick the container anywhere in the shower, avoiding the kid having to leave their body care products on the floor, on the wall or in a shelf where it doesn’t go.

The brand design concept arises from the concept of octopus suction cups, which allow the animal to hold different places or things, therefore, in a bionic exercise, we considered it appropriate to use this “technology” to solve a recurring problem in many homes and that could be solved thanks to a new packaging design, using these suction cups to hold the product on any surface of the bathroom and make bath time much more fun for the little ones. These suction cups also allow the child to always reach the shampoo, since it can be left at their height.

The brand name “Polp” has a double meaning, on the one hand it is the word used in the Valencian language (Valencia, Spain) to designate the octopus, on the other hand it seemed interesting that it sounded very similar to onomatopoeia “Pop!” which represents the sound of a suction cup peeling off a surface.

As we see in the final result, we arranged a series of suction cups around the container, this led us to carry out many tests on the arrangement of the suction cups, to test different sizes, thinking of three main factors, the first being the functionality, basic on this product. They must be suction cups that resist the weight of the container itself for safety, second the target audience, the suction cups must be large, in addition to their functionality by kids, they are looking for fun since many of them do not like bath time, so designing an element with which they could play and that was also striking due to its size, reinforced the concept and decision-making. And the third factor that we had to think about was the aesthetic factor, the suction cups being elements with a lot of visual weight, required special attention, so they could not hide but what was done to make them have a predominant importance in the product.

“Polp” is a product that also helps the environment, in a first purchase we would obtain the complete product, but in the following purchases we would only need to buy a replacement for the “Polp” brand shampoo that we use the most, not the entire product. In addition, “Polp” is a range of shampoos designed for different hair types in kids, thus helping not only the environment, but also the care of their hair.

Therefore, “Polp” is presented as a fun, youthful, safety and current concept, which presents a new way of arranging the shampoo in the bathroom space, always thinking of the smallest of the house.

What’s Unique?
As I have commented in the description, what makes this product different is the way it occupies the bathroom space, being able to be placed anywhere in the bathroom at children’s height thanks to the suction cups. In addition, its childlike appearance, as well as its touch, can make bathing fun, especially since many children hate this time of day.
