The concept

The concept behind the label created by Emiliano Ponzi for La Pettegola Banfi is that of word of mouth, light gossip, the Chinese Whisper. The first person receives the “gossip” and reports it to the second, in an infinite loop. Each person portrayed in the artwork becomes aware not so much of a gossip, but of an intimate confidence whispered in their ear, perhaps after a couple of glasses of Vermentino. And it is precisely the “Pettegola”, the real one, who chirps it first.

The artwork

Emiliano Ponzi imagined La Pettegola Banfi as a confidence whispered from ear to ear. It all takes place under the curious gaze of the real “pettegola”, the little bird that gives its name to Banfi’s Vermentino, which appears in three different positions within the illustration: three limited editions in one. It is a conversation tinged with magenta, the details of which fade just like the words whispered between one subject and another.

Thanks to augmented reality, using the app “Banfi Experience”,  the label comes to life on the smartphone. The first subject receives the gossip and reports it to the second, in an infinite loop.
