Contrattino Aperitivo Italiano

Contrattino Aperitivo Italiano

Stefano Pellegrini

Contrattino is a ready-to-drink cocktail, in an elegant Art Deco packaging. With an alcohol content of 5.5%, Contrattino is a very rich organic aperitif, thanks to the mixing of bitter ingredients from natural china and other Italian herbs, and the fresh component given by citrus fruits.

The brief behind the project was not to create something new from scratch, but “resurrect” an old product by the Contratto winery, and infuse in it a new vibe: fresh and young. The starting point was an old product from the winery, that has been revamped both in the pack and in the recipe. One of the asset was the liquid itself: organic and with a very impactful pink color.

The need by the client was to create something very specific in terms of period of time. Something from the roaring twenties and with an Art Deco Vibe. For this reason, instead of using a standard bottle, a new glass was made, very stylish and rich.

To make the bottle even more personal we branded the glass with the logotype embossed on the shoulder of the bottle. This with the long vertical stripes was able to create an iconic and unique bottle, stylish and eyecatching.

For the label, the best way to resolve the brief was to go back in time and see the language of the brand Contratto in that period. For this reason I made a research, scouting for references. In the end we landed on the example on the left: an old label for a different product that had the perfect vibe. From that, I worked on the wording, the weights and the color palette.

To play with the pink of the liquid, I took inspiration from the Big Babol brand and juxtapose a navy blue. This color combination become a bold statement for all the brand platform, from the 3-bottle pack to the website.
