A client from Kentucky, USA, contacted me. In a brief letter, he wrote about the design of a whiskey label dedicated to a moonshine festival.
Time was limited, and the next day I got to work. I came up with the idea to draw a redneck in the moonlight, holding a kerosene lamp over his head and trying to peer into the darkness. After finishing work on the character, a second idea came to mind: what if I drew his skeleton with fluorescent paint, so the drawing would glow in the dark? This form of printing is not difficult for the print shop and is affordable in terms of cost, but it would certainly have an impact.
Four days later, the illustrations were ready, and the idea had taken a specific form. I sent the client the work with a detailed explanation. What he saw far exceeded his expectations, and of course, the client accepted the work. After discussing the final design details, I proceeded to the final stage of the work. The project was created from scratch and completed in just 12 days.
