The Neat Trick

New Delhi, Delhi, India

Aziz, a single malt whiskey whose design draws inspiration from the Urdu term for “beloved,” encapsulating the profound essence of love. Rejecting the traditional masculine aesthetics of whiskey, Aziz embraces a softer, romantic narrative through the tale of two royals.

The centerpiece of the design is an emerald-shaped bottle, a bold departure from conventional whiskey packaging. Metallic braces flank the sides, adding a sense of structure and regality, while the bottle’s highlight—a playing card affixed to the front—features a king and queen in a visual love story. The king holds a sword, symbolising protection and strength, while the queen offers a rose, embodying grace and affection. At the heart of the card, a red heart unites them, underscoring the eternal Aziz bond lovers share. The card is framed by four screws set on a golden plate, evoking a sense of permanence and opulence.

The bottle is crowned by a cap shaped like a royal crown, topped with a diamond—an emblem of majesty and timeless elegance. Adding further depth to the storytelling, the bottle’s neck is adorned with a metal plaque engraved with the numerals “38,” adding an air of mystery and exclusivity.

The wooden box housing Aziz mirrors the grandeur of a castle’s gates. Two intricately designed guards stand as sentinels of love, guarding the precious liquid within. When opened, the box’s doors unveil the whiskey like a treasure of the kingdom—an opulent blend of cedarwood, almonds, and sherried oak, culminating in an enduringly smooth finish.

Every design element of Aziz speaks of love, legacy, and royalty. It transcends its role as mere packaging, transforming into a timeless artifact that tells a story—one of passion, devotion, and majesty.
