SITUATION
The home fragrance market is divided into low-priced air fresheners and expensive reed diffusers. The client has seen an opportunity to fill the gap and create mainstream yet best-looking and feeling room sprays that cost under 10 euros. The goal is to push the boundaries of the home scents category and conquer space on the shelves of major retailers and household goods stores. Each scent was carefully created in collaboration with a professional perfumer, and we felt that this level of thought needed to be apparent in the design solution.
SOLUTION
The project started with coming up with the name. And once the word “sCentiments” was born, everyone felt that this name has the right notion of how scents have a strong power of influencing emotions and home atmosphere. While designing the logo, we wanted to emphasise the letter C, which reveals the marriage between Scent and Sentiments. Visually we went for the “black on black” approach and paid a lot of attention to the different textures and material finishes. We took design inspiration from luxury perfume bottles. Each scent was assigned a specific colour tone and tactile pattern that intuitively would tell the buyer what this scent is all about. The objective was to create a design that would enhance any homes interior rather than be hidden under the sink. It’s all about the sentiment that the right scent can evoke.
