This is a personal project. An attempt to better understand branding, brand identity, packaging.
Taco house is a small, cozy and authentic restaurant that serves spicy Mexican meals. The meals are usually just wrapped in a tissue paper and then into a paper bag along with the sauce sachets and other sides. And that creates a complete mess till the time you open the takeaway parcel.
Hence, this meal box is designed to keep the food intact and fresh without making a mess and has separate compartments for each taco so they don’t get mixed. A little side space for the tissues and sauce sachets has been provided.
From the logo to the box till the sauce sachets everything has it’s very own lively approach as the Mexican culture suggests. Hence the colors are so bright and out there. The logo tries to portray the ” calavera”, a concept associated with Mexican culture and red chilli along with it, to emphasize the spicy food which is a peculiar quality of taco house.
The meal box has a proper handle lock so that you can carry the box anywhere, there won’t be a risk of anything falling or spilling out as the material is sturdy.
This is my take on the problems that a taco restaurant faces when they have to arrange for a takeaway without letting the taco get soggy and keeping it intact.
The taco compartment separates from the outer carton so that people can directly pickup the inner tray and place it on any surface to have a comfortable position to eat in.
What’s Unique?
The uniqueness lies in the structure of the meal box. The inner tray like box holding the tacos being separated from the outer carton gives a clean and non messy takeaway parcel experience any one is looking for. The box being made up of organic matter is an environment-friendly approach towards packaging.
